There’s a PlayStation 2 game called Dragon Force, where the players assume the role of a ruler and sets out to unite the continent and bring peace to the land.
Power metal band DragonForce are definitely influenced by the game, but their story is a little bit different.
Known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound, DragonForce have been a force to reckon with since 1999. And, despite a line-up which has changed a few times through-out the years, they’re still achieving gold (literally, their 2006 and 2008 albums were both certified Gold in the UK).
Having supported Iron Maiden on tour in 2011, the band are essentially the Expert mode on Guitar Hero – after all, their song ‘Through the Fire and Flames’ is one of the hardest songs on Guitar Hero 3.
Alex Irons interviewed the power metal band about their 6 past albums, life on the road and what we can expect from them next.
