This weeks Urban Artist of the Week is Bryson Tiller, so we thought to tell you a little bit more about him.
Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Bryson Tiller started singing and rapping at the age of 15 before he eventually began writing and recording his own music. When he left school, he worked a full-time job at Papa Johns, doing music part-time straight from his living room. Now, when he isn't recording, he's either chilling on Google hangouts or watching "Full House" on Nick at Nite - at the force of his daughter.
Bryson Tiller is the newest signing to legendary music mogul Timbaland's record label (alongside rising Chicago rapper Tink). He was announced as the latest signing via a Google hangout session. It's likely that Tiller will make it mainstream this year, following recent trends of R&B dominating the charts and rumours of a collaboration with Timbaland himself.
Tiller doesn't base his sound on a particular genre - he has enough original elements within his music to make for an intriguing listen. If you ask him though, he calls his music "TrapSoul". Whatever his genre is though, it seems to be working - a million listens on his SoundCloud page speaks volumes this early in his career.
